Your Questions, Answered!

  • PLEASE READ Before Creating an Account & Buying Sessions:

    • Each child must have their own account with a unique email address.

    • The account's main name should be the child's full name.

    • Add the guardian’s name under "Emergency Contact."

    • IMPORTANT! WAIVERS: Our waiver & code of conduct must be signed before playspace entry is allowed. These are sent with instructions via email after your account is created.

You can also access them here after you have created your account. Please use the same email you created your account with to complete the liability waiver& code of conduct.

    • Play Session packs can be shared between two accounts by booking a “guest”:

      • BOOKING A GUEST: Make a purchase on one account, then add the second account as a "guest" by adding their email when booking your reservation online. Sessions will be deducted from the main account. Note: Not all packages can be shared.

      • NEW GUESTS: You can book in a guest that is brand new without an account or currently has an account. If they do not have account, please create one before coming into the studio and ensure the parent/ guardian has reviewed and signed the liability waiver & code of conduct or THEY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN THE SPACE.

    • When purchasing sessions, packages are displayed as "classes."

      • A single 2-hour session requires 2 "classes." For example, purchasing a 5-session play pack = 10 "classes" added to your account. When booking a 2-hour session, 2 "classes" are deducted.

  • Setting up an account is easy! Visit our website account page HERE or Download the Playsticity app (not live yet!), follow the prompts to register, and then add your child’s details.

You’ll also sign waivers and manage bookings directly from your website account or the app.

Need help? Contact us, and we’ll walk you through it.

  • Yes, we do! Once our schedule is live, we’ll share more details about our before and after-school pick-up services, which will be available through three local schools.

Stay tuned for updates to see if your child’s school is included!

If you want to have this as a feature at your school, please email info@playsticity.ca, or DM us on instagram at @playsticity.

  • No problem! We know every child develops differently, so you’re welcome to book the session you think will be the best fit.

If you’re unsure, please reach out—we’d love to help find the perfect option for your child.

There is a chance we’ll learn that the session you’ve booked is not quite the right fit for your child, but we’ll let you know what to book for your next visit.

  • In this session, we open up the space to any and all children. We can do this because they will attend with a caregiver who will make sure their individual needs are met, while our staff are also available to support and supervise.

    How it works:
One adult can bring up to 4 children into the space. The accompanying adult must supervise the children and is responsible for the group.

Adults pay $25, and children are $10 each. Payment is collected at the studio for the adult participation.

The $10 drop in fee for children can be paid at the studio or bought & added to their account from our sessions & packages page.

Each child must be booked in advance to reserve a spot.  All profiles must include completed waivers before visiting.

Our staff will be present to help everyone engage thoughtfully in child-led play.

Some examples of people who might use these sessions are:

    • Parents who homeschool multiple children.

    • Nannies in a nannyshare situation.

    • Grandparents who come to visit and want an activity they can do with their grandkids.

    • Support workers providing care and education to children with special needs.

    • Specialists like Occupational Therapists, Behaviour Interventionists, or Speech Language Pathologists who want to see clients in a more social environment.

    • Parents on parental leave with a young baby and toddler at home.

  • Our play space is filled with open-ended, high-quality toys designed to inspire creativity and development.

Think building blocks, pretend play sets, loose parts, and more! These toys allow for endless possibilities and encourage kids to use their imagination.

Some of the brands we currently have are: Barumba, EverBlock, Superspace, Imagination Playground, CrazyForts… and the list goes on!

  • To keep everyone safe and engaged, we limit each session to 24 children.

This ensures plenty of space and attention for imaginative play.

There will always be three staff members onsite, so the ratio will be at least one adult to every eight children.

  • While we don’t encourage bringing snacks, reusable water bottles are a great idea.

Snacking before playing here is a great plan, as they’ll need the energy! If kids do bring their own snacks, they must be enjoyed in the cubby area to maintain cleanliness.

Please be very mindful of common allergens to ensure a safe environment for all children.

  • If you’d rather stay with your child, that’s no problem - sign up for one of our Caregiver Participation sessions.

For our other sessions, this space is designed for kids to test out their independence, build skills, and gain confidence.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to book appointments, relax at a nearby cafe, exercise, or dine out while their children are enjoying their time at Playsticity.

  • Absolutely! We cater to a wide range of ages by offering open-ended activities that challenge older kids to think creatively and stay engaged.

They choose how and what they play, so they’ll be engaged for sure.

From designing elaborate structures to exploring role-play scenarios, there’s plenty to keep them busy.

Some may struggle to self-start in the beginning, but their imaginations will be illuminated in no time!

  • This is a cleanliness measure. Not only does it keep our special fall-safe flooring spic and span, it keeps feet clean and protected. Don’t stress if you forget socks - we have pairs with grips on the bottom available for children to borrow while they play! Our onsite washer and dryer keep these clean and fresh, along with our various fabric-based toys.

  • Playsticity is the opposite of screen time, essentially.

Our staff has plenty of experience working with children who use technology to communicate, however, so if a device is needed, please let us know, and we will make sure everything goes smoothly.

  • We focus on safety, of course! Only people you have designated on your child’s profile, which is submitted via our liability waiver when creating an account, will be allowed to leave the facility with your child.

Having your “village” members listed with the required identification details will help pick-up move seamlessly (although we’re certain the kids will want to stay for just one more minuuuuuuute!).

Playsticity may ask anyone entering the facility for their ID and refuse to release a child unless they are CERTAIN the adult in question is a safe choice designated by the legal guardians of the child in question.

Please note that you can list your own child as a pick-up option if you give them permission to make their own way home from sessions.

This is entirely up to your discretion and means staff can allow your child to independently leave the facility at the end of their booked session time.

  • We do! Keep an eye out for when bookings become available in early 2025. These can be booked as private or public sessions. We’ll have more information available soon!

  • There are actually a number of reasons we chose not to go this route with Playsticity, but one of the most important ones is flexibility. Licensed facilities follow lots of restrictions, and we believe some flexibility is important in encouraging healthy development. However, we have used the Vancouver Coastal Health Childcare Guidelines as a ‘best practice’ guide throughout the decision-making process.

  • This is a rule we have to follow as a non-licensed space. Additionally, while children definitely need child-led imaginary play, they also need a variety of other opportunities and experiences in their lives to have fun while developing to their full potential. Playsticity intends to be a part of a diverse week that includes the arts, sports, family time, outdoor play, teamwork, and more.

  • We use Mariantek, similar to many exercise facilities, for scheduling and booking.

Depending on the packages you buy, or if you use us sporadically, you’ll be able to book time slots 1–2 weeks in advance, up until 30 minutes before a session starts, if there is still space.

The app is where you’ll do all of your booking and form signing.
